NFL THURSDAY NIGHT NOTES: MIAMI DOLPHINS AT BALTIMORE RAVENS

October 26, 2017

Week 8 kicks off on Thursday night (8:25 PM ET, CBS/NFLN/Amazon Prime) with an AFC showdown as the Baltimore Ravens welcome the Miami Dolphins to M&T Bank Stadium. The Ravens and Dolphins meet for the 15th time (including the postseason), with Baltimore leading the all-time series, 8-6. The Ravens have won six of the past seven meetings dating back to 2008, including a 27-9 win in the 2008 Wild Card meeting.

Miami enters Week 8 following a 31-28 victory over the New York Jets last week. Dolphins cornerback BOBBY MC CAIN intercepted a pass late in the fourth quarter to set up the game-winning 39-yard field goal by CODY PARKEY with 22 seconds remaining in the contest. Wide receivers JARVIS LANDRY (93 receiving yards, one touchdown) and KENNY STILLS (85, two) paced the offense and linebacker CAMERON WAKE had 2.5 sacks in the win. Landry is tied for second in the NFL with 45 catches and ranks fourth in the league with 333 catches since entering the NFL in 2014. Baltimore looks to rebound this week following a 24-16 loss at Minnesota in Week 7. Baltimore linebacker C.J. MOSLEY leads the NFL with 64 tackles and is one of three players (LUKE KUECHLY and TELVIN SMITH) with at least 400 tackles (401), five sacks (seven) and five interceptions (seven) since 2014. Ravens quarterback JOE FLACCO completed 36 of 47 attempts (76.6 percent) for 381 yards with four touchdowns for a 119.2 rating in the last meeting between the two teams (December 4, 2016), which Baltimore won 38-6.
